The commanding 26-year-old defender has enjoyed a productive 2024, with title glory and domestic cup success savoured in Glasgow. There is still plenty more for him to achieve, with the no-nonsense centre-half named in the United States’ preliminary squad for the Copa on home soil.

Carter-Vickers has said of potentially gracing another major tournament, having already turned out at the 2022 World Cup: “We have the Copa America and two friendlies before that. The squad has been announced for the friendlies and I think they might make a few cuts before the tournament squad. Hopefully, I am in the squad.”
THE BIGGER PICTURE
When returning to Parkhead over the summer, Carter-Vickers is aware that Celtic may dip back into the market for more competition in his position. He has no issues with that, adding: “I have been here three seasons now and we always tend to sign a lot of players. That’s just part of it. Since I have been here every player we have signed has come here with the right attitude and tried to help the team as much as they can. That’s all you’re looking for.”
