Manchester United defender Wes Brown has admitted he was disappointed to miss out on Fabio Capello's World Cup squad.
Brown has endured a number of injury troubles this term and the 30-year-old failed to make his initial 30-man squad.
He has since recovered from a broken foot but, with limited game time under his belt, Capello has opted to leave him off the plane for the showpiece in South Africa next month.
Speaking to the Sunday Mirror, he said:"I was disappointed to be omitted from the squad.
"The World Cup is the pinnacle of any footballer's career and as a kid you always dream about pulling the England shirt on in the World Cup final.
"But I have not played any football for the past few months. I'll definitely be watching and keeping my fingers crossed for the team.
"I think the squad is really strong and we have a really good chance of having a successful tournament."Subscribe to Football FanCast News Headlines by Email
