Speaking to The Daily Record, John ‘Bomber’ Brown has spoken about the kind of man Pedro Caixinha needs in as his assistant coach as Rangers embark on a new era.
What’s the story?
Bomber Brown was one of the names interviewed by the new manager last week for the ‘number 3’ role at the club and has opened up about what kind of personality he feels Caixinha needs at Ibrox.
He reckons the Portuguese needs someone in who will help him understand the anti-Rangers sentiment in Scottish football right now.
As quoted by The Daily Record, Brown said:
He wants to succeed and he needs people round about him to tell him and let him understand about Scottish football and the way the game is played, and the feelings that are against Rangers.
Time will tell whether that’s an approach Caixinha sees as a priority with fellow interviewees Barry Ferguson, Peter Lovenkrands and Alex Rae all vying for a spot in the new boss’ staff.
With massive goals left between now and the end of the season, appointing someone with a firm grasp of the scene in Scottish football seems like a smart decision as Caixinha begins to learn more and more about the task in front of him next term.
